Farm Resources
Farms and farmland remain prominent in many Connecticut towns including East Windsor.  Agriculture is an integral part of the Town's landscape and overall economic picture.  The Town of East Windsor understands the importance that agricultural activities provide, not only the benefits of locally grown produce and plants, but also in providing open space and wildlife habitats.  The Town of East Windsor is currently working towards Farm Friendly regulations and a Right To Farm Ordinance to help in the preservation of farming.  The Natural Resources and Preservation Committee (NRPC), a subcommittee of the Inland Wetland and Watercourses/Conservation Commission, has been working with Town staff over the last couple of years on a Agricultural Viability Grant.  This grant entails taken inventory of farmland throughout the Town and researching how best to preserve highly valued farmland within this community.  We hope this page offers a way for farmers and those residents interested in helping to preserve farms by providing links to a multitude of useful information such as grants, links to farming information and state and federal agencies.
