The Planning and Zoning Department staff reviews plans, processes applications, meets with various applicants and citizens and answers questions relating to the land use regulatory process. The Town Planner also attends night meetings of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Economic Development Commission as well as those of various other boards and commissions as may be requested from time to time.
The Town Planner is also part of a business visitation team that includes the First Selectman and a representative of the Connecticut Capitol Region Growth Council. The goal of this program is to retain existing businesses as well as attract new business to the Town of East Windsor.
The Zoning Enforcement Officer issues zoning permits for construction projects and changes of use, conducts site inspections to determine compliance with regulations and approved plans, investigates complaints regarding zoning violations, issues orders and appears in court to resolve outstanding violation issues.
