Department Purpose and Mission

It is the purpose of the East Windsor Police Department to preserve the public peace and order, the prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders, and the protection of persons and property through the enforcement of local, State, and Federal laws. The responsibilities associated with this mission are many. The law must be enforced in a fair and impartial manner recognizing both the statutory and judicial limitations of police authority and the Constitutional rights of all. All employees are expected to perform their duties and responsibilities in an efficient, honest, and business-like manner.  In the execution of their responsibilities, the department employees act not for themselves, but for the public good. Equity and justice hinge upon the above principals.

Staff

The East Windsor Police  Department’s team consists of 24 sworn members, including the Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, 1 Lieutenant,  5 Sergeants, 3 Corporals, 11 Patrol Officers and  2 Detectives. The Non-sworn team members include 5 Dispatchers, 1 Records Manager, 1 part-time Records Clerk, 1 part-time Animal Control Officer, and the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police.
