EAST WINDSOR - A BB gun fired at the front door of a residence, shattering its window, on Maple Avenue Friday night has led to the arrest of two teenage boys, police said.
No one was injured in the incident, police said.
Both boys, ages 15 and 16, were charged with second-degree criminal mischief, carrying danger weapons, and second-degree breach of peace, police said.
The boys are stepbrothers, Sgt. Michael Hannaford said today.

Police are not releasing the boys' names because they are juveniles.
The family was at home at 10:53 p.m. when the BB shattered the window of the front door, police said.

After the shot was fired, one of the family members followed four youths and saw two of them walk into the Mill Pond Village apartment complex while the other two entered a nearby home, police said.

The 16-year-old confessed to police during the investigation, Hannaford said. He was released on a $2,500 nonsurety bond.
The 15-year-old was released to his guardian, who agreed to appear in court with him, police said.
Both are scheduled to appear in juvenile court in Vernon on May 16.
