EAST WINDSOR - Police arrested a local teen Wednesday at the Warehouse Point Fire Department Carnival in connection with an armed robbery they say took place early that morning.
The suspect is 16 and from the area, police said, although more information regarding his identity could not be released due to his age.
According to Sgt. Stephen Andrusko, the suspect threatened an acquaintance with a knife in the parking lot of Brooks Pharmacy on Bridge Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The suspect thought the acquaintance owed him money and made a demand for money, police say.
The altercation was broken up by a parcel delivery driver, and the victim walked to the Police Department and made a report, Andrusko said.
Police knew the identity of the suspect, who was later pointed out to an officer working at the Warehouse Point Fire Department's annual carnival.
The officer made the arrest at around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Andrusko said.
The teen was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree threatening, and second-degree larceny.
He was held on $20,000 surety bond and was to be presented in court in Enfield today.
