EAST WINDSOR - A Hartford man was stabbed multiple times early Tuesday, and two Springfield men were arrested in connection with the assault, according to police.
Officer David McNeice was making a routine check of the Mardi Gras Café, 37 North Road, when witnesses told him that a man had been stabbed repeatedly and the suspects had fled in a vehicle, Sgt. Michael Hannaford said.

The suspect's vehicle was subsequently stopped on Interstate 91 north by McNeice, Hannaford said.

Ray Anthony Streeter, 37, was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree breach of peace.

Timothy Eugene Harris, 36, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
According to witnesses, an altercation occurred inside the bar between the suspects and about three other patrons, Hannaford said.

Hannaford said the incident apparently involved one or two of the club's dancers.

Streeter and Harris left the Mardi Gras and attacked Luis Rodriguez, 31, of Hartford as Rodriguez and two companions came out of the bar, according to Hannaford.

Rodriguez was stabbed in his lung, and sustained cuts to his chest, face, and back of the head, according to police.
His injuries were serious but did not appear to be life threatening, Hannaford said. He was driven by a friend to Hartford Hospital, and was listed in stable condition Tuesday.

Both men were being held in Hartford Correctional Center, according to the Correction Department Web site. They are due in Enfield Superior Court on April 10.
