A Windsor man was arrested at his job in East Windsor on Tuesday after a complaint that he threatened to "put a bullet in the head" of a co-worker and had bragged about having guns, police said.

The incident occurred at Velocity Express, 21 Thompson Road, police said.
The man, Kevin K. Byler 36, of 10 Graham Road, was charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace in connection with the incident.

According to East Windsor Detective Matthew Carl, a search of Byler's home failed to turn up any guns, but Byler admitted making the threat and cooperated with police.

Some of Byler's co-workers gave statements to investigators indicating his behavior and talk of guns troubled them.
In Enfield Superior Court on Wednesday, Judge Richard W. Dyer set Byler's bond at $10,000, and continued his case to May 15. He ordered Byler not to have any weapons if he posts bond, and directed the Department of Correction to keep him on a mental health watch.

Byler was being held today at the Hartford Correctional Center, according to the Correction Department's Web site.
Byler has no known history of psychiatric problems and no prior arrest record, Bail Commissioner Paul Maselek told the court.  He resides in Windsor with his fiancé, has one child of his own, and helps care for his fiancé's children from a previous relationship, Maselek said.

"We have to take these kinds of threats very seriously," Carl said, adding that recent incidents of violence in schools and workplaces highlight the need to heed warning signs.
