An East Hartford man was sentenced Wednesday to a year in prison for breaking into a car on South Main Street in East Windsor while already on probation for an earlier burglary conviction.
The man, Angel Maldonado, 23, of 136 Columbus Circle, was arrested March 15 by officers investigating a complaint by an employee of Roberts Trading Post who observed two people tampering with a parked car near the business, police said.
In Enfield Superior Court, Maldonado pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools in connection with the incident. He was already serving a nine month sentence for violating his probation in connection with a separate burglary conviction, his public defender, Scott Abkowicz, told the court.
After entering his pleas, Maldonado was sentenced to a year in prison by Judge Howard Scheinblum.
