EAST WINDSOR - A woman who barricaded herself inside her Riverview Drive home and wielded knives when family tried to get in finally was subdued with a Taser on Saturday, police said.
Giuditta Papallo, 60, of 13F Riverview Drive, refused to let family inside the home, prompting a call to local police who responded along with state police about noontime. Papallo brandished two knives through the front window and refused to allow officers to enter, police said. The apartment door was locked and secured with plastic and rope.
The woman told police she had the weapons for protection, police said. Papallo eventually allowed officers entry, police said, however, they used a Taser on her to take the knives from her possession. She was brought to Hartford Hospital for evaluation and released, officials said. No further information was available today.
