Joining forces East Windsor Senior Services is very pleased to announce that we have formed an informal partnership with both Windsor Locks and Ellington to provide our community with some exciting and interesting travel opportunities.

After several joint meetings the three adjoining towns have agreed to work together and have launched the Tri-Town Travelers". All three towns will work together in a uniformed effort to offer a series of one-day trips beginning in September with a trip to Long Island Wine country, including a lobster dinner overlooking Long Island Sound.
Over the past years each of the Tri-Town Traveler partners have experienced the same response to most of the trips offered. “Each time we post a trip we are only able to attract 10 or 15 residents for that trip, but never enough to fill the bus, resulting in a canceled trip and many disappointed residents”.
With this new Tri-Town Travelers alliance each of the three towns will only need just a handful of residents, 10 -16, in order to fill the bus and have a successful trip.  Every trip that is offered through the Tri-Town Travelers will provide convenient and easy departures from each of the participating towns.

This new partnership will now allow us to offer some wonderful travel opportunities for our older residents as well as our up and coming Baby Boomers looking forward to traveling with fellow residents.

At the Tri-Town Travelers last meeting it was agreed that the first trip would be in September to Long Island Wine Country. October will feature the Naugatuck Valley Railroad and an Oktoberfest luncheon at The Eastside Restaurant in New Britain. In November it’s a Guided tour of New York City’s 911 Memorial with lunch at Eataly and Radio City Music Hall Show. For December the group is planning to attend a Holiday Concert featuring the World Famous Vienna Boys Choir. A look into 2013, the Tri-Town Travelers are off to Washington DC in early April for a weekend tour during Cherry Blossom time. All trips will feature a professional escort, and a full size deluxe lavatory equipped motor coach.

The Tri-Town Travelers agree this is a modest beginning; however we feel this will eventually lead to a more aggressive travel calendar with trips to Alaska, a Hawaiian Cruise and even Europe.
