Tax Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. through 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. on Friday.  Our mailing address is Town of East Windsor, Tax Collector, 11 Rye Street, Broad Brook, CT  06016-9553.

On March 2nd, the Tax Office will be mailing Delinquent/Lien Notices on all unpaid Real Estate on the Grand List of 2009.  These statements do not reflect any Back Tax amounts that may be due on previous Grand List years.
All Real Estate with an unpaid balance on April 15, 2011 will be LIENED in accordance with CT General Statutes.

On February 11th, the Tax Office mailed Delinquent Statements on all unpaid Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Supplemental on the Grand List of 2008 and 2009.  These statements do not reflect any Back Tax amounts that may be due on previous Grand List years.
All Motor Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Supplemental on the Grand List of 2008 with an unpaid balance on March 15, 2011 will be forwarded to Rossi Law COLLECTION.

Delinquent motor vehicle bills must be paid in cash or bank check to get a DMV release.  If you call the office we can provide you with the total amount due to receive your DMV release for registration.

Bill Copies and Income Tax Copies:
If you are paying your bill in person at the Tax Office please bring all the copies of bills that you have received so that we can stamp your 'taxpayer copy' as Paid.  If you do not have your copy you will be charged $ .50/page for copies of your bills.  You may receive a stamped receipt by mail by enclosing your 'taxpayer copy A' along with your payment stub, payment and SASE.

Please retain your tax receipts for Income Tax purposes.  A payment history may be obtained from the Tax Collector's Office.  A $ .50/page copy fee will be charged.  This information will not be provided over the phone.  The Tax Collector's Office works on a fiscal year (July through June) rather than a calendar year (January through December) and these requests require research into the prior fiscal year's records.  Due to this and the volume of requests, a report must be generated.

Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle Tax Bills were mailed June 28th & 29th, 2010. Please call the Tax Collector’s Office if you have not received a bill and feel you owe taxes.  In accordance with CT General Statutes, failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or interest.

The second installment on Grand List 2009 for Real Estate and Personal Property (bills were mailed on June 28 & 29, 2010 and have stubs for both installments.  You will not be receiving any other bill for the January installment) and Motor Vehicle Supplemental bills (mailed the last week of December) are due January 1, 2011 and on or before February 1, 2011 to avoid interest.  The Tax Office accepts Post Office Postmark.

The online payment link to pay taxes is available only during 'Current Collection Cycles'.  The link will be active January 1st through February 1st, 2011.  If you have 'back taxes' due, please call the tax office for a current payoff before you pay online.

All unpaid Motor Vehicle Bills on the Grand Lists of 1994 through 2007 have been forwarded to Rossi Law Offices LTD for collection.  All payments for those years must be made directly to Rossi.  Please contact them at 1-800-647-6774 for further information or to make payment arrangements.  Delinquent Statements for Motor Vehicle bills on the Grand Lists of 2008 & 2009 will be mailed in February.  All unpaid Grand List 2008 Motor Vehicle bills will be forwarded for collection on the compliance date cutoff.

The Tax Office collects real estate, motor vehicle and personal property taxes as well as parking ticket fines, aircraft registration, sewer assessments and sewer facility connections.  We also issue refunds and work closely with the Assessor's Office processing pro-rations, abatements and add-on tax bills.
