TOWN OF EAST WINDSOR
The following ordinance was adopted at a Special Town Meeting duly warned and held on June 27, 2002. Said ordinance shall become effective fifteen (15) days from the
publication thereof.
“ORDINANCE REGARDING REGIONAL POLICE ASSISTANCE CONTRACTS”
BE IT ENACTED:
WHEREAS, Section 7-277a of the Connecticut General Statutes authorizes municipalities to enter into Agreements for mutual police assistance; and
WHEREAS, the Town of East Windsor wishes to cooperate on mutual police assistance in several functions with some or all of the Towns of South Windsor, Manchester, East Hartford, Coventry, Glastonbury, Windsor, Hartford and the Connecticut State Police; and
WHEREAS, prior to entering into any such Agreement, each of the participating parties shall have agreed to waive any entitlement to reimbursement for expenditures incurred in providing such assistance, or otherwise to provide for a method of payment of the same;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, that the First Selectman, upon the request of the Chief of Police and/or the East Windsor Police Commission, is authorized to enter into any such Mutual Police Assistance Compact on behalf of the Town of East Windsor, and is further authorized to waive or provide for the reimbursement of any expenses incurred in the operation of such Compact in writing.
