Ordinance Requiring Audit Of Books And Records
81-2

TOWN OF EAST WINDSOR

The following ordinance was adopted at a Special Town Meeting, duly warned and held on October 1, 1981.  Said ordinance shall become effective fifteen (15) days from the publication thereof.

ORDINANCE REQUIRING AUDIT OF BOOKS AND RECORDS

BE IT ORDAINED:

Each department, agency, commission, association, corporation, authority or other organization, which receives funds appropriated by the Town of East Windsor, shall annually have an audit conducted by an authorized accountant, licensed in the State of Connecticut, as to its financial condition, its revenues and expenditures.

It shall be a requirement that the audit be completed prior to the budget request submitted to the Board of Selectmen or Board of Finance.  In the event that the audit has already been completed, the Board of Finance is authorized to waive the requirement that another audit be conducted.

The foregoing requirements shall be enforced and monitored by the Board of Finance of the Town of East Windsor.
