History

East Windsor, Connecticut, incorporated in 1768, was originally settled by farmers drawn by the even topography and fertile soils of the Connecticut River Valley. The character of East Windsor is derived from the river access, agricultural land, and open space, which lend the town its rural charm. East Windsor is comprised of five villages, Broad Brook, Melrose, Scantic, Warehouse Point and Windsorville.

Venturing around town reveals how its history plays a part of everyday life. From the active Opera House to the East Windsor Academy Museum, from its historic churches and farm fields and barns, to a fine meal at The Jonathan Pasco House built in 1782, the old charm of a rich New England past is evident all around.
