Motor Vehicle Taxes

Motor vehicle taxes are due in one installment, July and supplemental motor vehicle taxes (for vehicles registered between October 2 and July 31) are due in Jan.  Delinquent motor vehicle taxes may be paid with CASH, MONEY ORDER, OR CERTIFIED BANK CHECK FOR AN IMMEDIATE MOTOR VEHICLE RELEASE.

Delinquent motor vehicle taxes are reported to DMV. Motor vehicle registrations will not be renewed unless motor vehicle taxes by the taxpayer’s name are current not by vehicle.  Once delinquent motor vehicle accounts are reported to DMV, delinquent motor vehicle taxes can only be paid by CASH, BANK CHECK OR MONEY ORDER for an immediate clearance per town ordinance 86-1

Delinquent motor vehicle accounts may be blocked online from payment.  Delinquent motor vehicle taxes may be sent to collection. If your motor vehicle account is placed in collection, you must pay the collection entity.

Change of Addresses must be done through DMV. We will gladly take your new address but our files come from DMV and will be overwritten by DMV. We will attempt to get your bill to you but we suggest if you are moving:

1. Change your address with DMV https://portal.ct.gov/DMV/DMV-Services/Change-Of-Address (only for individuals, not companies or leased cars)

2. Next billing cycle (July and January) check online at www.eastwindsor-ct.gov for your bill or you may call the office at (860) 623-8904 for your balance.
