Professional Drivers

The drivers of the Senior Services Transportation Program are trained professionals. As such, they hold a Commercial Drivers License with a Public Passenger Endorsement, attend yearly safety training courses and submit to mandated random drug and alcohol testing with the Connecticut Drug Consortium. The drivers are not allowed to accept tips.

The Transportation program is not a courier service. As such, drivers are not allowed to pick up prescription drugs, medical records, x-rays, etc. for clients. Clients may schedule an appointment with the Transportation Coordinator to go and retrieve these items as part of a pre-scheduled appointment. Additionally, the Senior Services Transportation Program does not provide transportation to places of employment, any volunteer work service, or adult day care. Our vehicles do not go out of the state for medical appointments.
