The Fire Marshal of Warehouse Point Fire District is required by the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut as well as other applicable state, federal laws and regulations to review plans for new construction or renovation and improvement of existing uses, buildings and structures. In addition the Fire Marshal is required to conduct regular review and inspection of existing buildings and uses. The costs of conducting such plan review and inspections are substantial and place a burden on the taxpayers of the District. In addition, these costs are not otherwise reimbursed to the District by the State. Therefore it is determined that those person(s) directly benefitted by the services provided by the Fire Marshal bear the costs associated with those services.
Effective January 15, 2016 the Warehouse Point Fire Marshal’s Office will be enacting a fee schedule for plan reviews and operating permits. All fees will be remitted to the Fire Marshal’s Office located at 89 Bridge St. via check, bank check or money order. Credit cards or cash cannot be accepted at this time. Please contact the Fire Marshal’s Office at 860-990-3846 to ensure that Fire Marshal staff is in the office and not out on inspections or emergencies.
