Annual Due Dates

  • Sewer benefit assessments and facilty connection charges are due September 1. Aircraft registrations are due October 1.
  • The Tax Office is responsible for collection of real estate, motor vehicle, and personal property taxes. 
  • Warehouse Point Fire District and Broad Brook Fire District taxes are collected on real estate and personal property are are due July 1 in full.
  • The bills for real estate and personal property are split into two installments; July 1 and January 1 of each year.  
  • Tax bills are mailed out once per year the end of June and have two installment stubs on them.  Reminder bills are not resent for the January installment.
  • Motor Vehicle taxes are paid in one installment; regular motor vehicle bills are due July 1 and supplemental motor vehicle bills (for vehicles registered between October 2 and July 31) are due January 1.
  • If you have not received a bill, please contact the Tax Office at (860) 623-8904 or view your tax bill online.
  • The Tax Office will only accept postmarks from the US Postal Service.  We will not accept Certificates of Mailings from the US Postal Service or metered mail.  State Statute 12-146 is very clear “the envelope containing the amount due as such tax or installment, as received by the tax collector of the municipality to which such tax is payable, bears a postmark showing a date within the time allowed by statute for the payment…”.  A postmark described by Connecticut General Statutes 26 US Code 7502 “United States postmark stamped on the cover in which such return . . .”
