The Town of East Windsor is committed to economic development within our community in a manner that focuses heavily on the success and expansion of existing businesses while encouraging new business growth. 

East Windsor is a moderately sized suburban community located in the North-Central region of Connecticut. While agriculture played a large part of the Town’s history, more recently the Town’s access to Interstate 91, nearby rail and airport options and the availability of large, commercially zoned parcels that are nearly shovel ready has allowed the Town to implement targeted growth strategies to capitalize on these beneficial qualities and reduce the financial burden on residential property owners by diversifying the Town’s grand list. Most recently, the Town has taken a number of initiatives to further improve the business environment in East Windsor to make it apparent to business owners and developers that the Town is ready for and will be encouraging of continued thoughtful developments. Some of these initiatives include the up-zoning of many commercial corridors, the initiation of an internal economic development review team and the institution of a local tax abatement program.

The Town of East Windsor has established an Development Team that meets regularly with the purpose of reviewing current and future development projects. These staff members are available to assist applicants and developers as they evaluate the projects and prepare to begin the project approval and entitlement process. Be it a review of applicable Zoning Regulations, understanding necessary improvements required by the Public Health Code or learning about the Towns Tax Incentives, the Town is here to help.
