EAST WINDSOR ANNOUNCES COVID-19 RELIEF GRANT FOR LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS

The East Windsor Board of Selectmen today announced an Emergency Relief and Stabilization Effort (E.R.A.S.E.) Covid-19 Grant.

The Grant is funded through the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021 and grant awards of up to $10,000 will be available to small businesses and non-profit organizations located in East Windsor. Selections will be based upon a dynamic plan for the grant award’s usage being submitted by the applicant. Please go to the East Windsor Website for more details.

“The Town wants to act quickly to stimulate our local economy by supporting small businesses and nonprofits within East Windsor,” First Selectman Jason E. Bowsza said.  “We are committed to being partners in their success as we all come out of this once-in-a-century pandemic and help them to chart a course forward.  East Windsor is open for business, and we want to use a portion of our ARP allotment to ensure that our entire community is able to build back better than we were before.”

“These federal grants will enable new futures for small businesses and nonprofits— fueling jobs and economic progress for East Windsor,” Senator Blumenthal said. “The funds will be invested directly in the community, a force multiplier for progress. My thanks and congratulations to Jason Bowsza and East Windsor officials for their vision and leadership.”

“We fought for the American Rescue Plan so that communities could recover from the COVID pandemic. I applaud First Selectman Bowsza and the Town of East Windsor for using a portion of the funding they’ve received to help local small businesses and non-profits who were hit so hard rebound from this pandemic,” said Larson.

“This grant program will go a long way in helping East Windsor’s small businesses and non-profits get back on their feet,” Senator Murphy said.  “I’m proud to have fought for the American Rescue Plan, which provides the federal funding to make these opportunities possible, and I’ll keep pushing for more support to make sure Connecticut’s economy bounces back stronger than ever.”

“This effort on the part of the Town of East Windsor show their initiative in ensuring federal ARP funds get where they're needed most, as efficiently as possible,” Senator Anwar said. “I applaud the Town's continued commitment to their local businesses and community organizations and look forward to hearing where the legislature can continue to assist in their recovery.”

“I’m so glad to see East Windsor supporting small businesses this way with the ARPA money,” said State Rep. Jaime Foster (57th).  “We know that our small businesses are the backbone of our community and were hard hit in the pandemic.  I’m looking forward to seeing the positive impact this grant program has in our community.”

State Rep. Carol Hall (59th) said “I think East Windsor has created a wonderful opportunity for small businesses to take advantage of a grant program that will assist those that have suffered during these covid of times with keeping their businesses afloat. These are the kind of measures that small businesses need to help them recover and move forward.”

The Town of East Windsor invites businesses and non-profits to submit an application for assistance between now and August 9th.  Additional grant criteria and application requirements can be found on www.eastwindsor-ct.gov.
