Back To School Backpack Program

The Department of Social Services is seeking individuals and local businesses to help make a child’s back to school days a lot brighter by taking part in the Back to School Backpack Program.  Social Services are filling donated backpacks with essential school items and are given to children who need them.  The backpacks are distributed through East Windsor Schools to preserve anonymity.
Items needed:

  • Binders (1 inch)
  • Binder filler paper-College ruled (Packages of 150)
  • 1 subject Notebooks up to 100 sheets
  • Composition Books
  • Scissors (Blunt)
  • #2 Ticonderoga pencils (Packages of 12) 
  • Pens (Blue) 
  • Pencil Sharpeners 
  • Packs of post-It notes (4 Pack) 
  • Crayons (24 Pack) 
  • Highlighters 
  • Erasers (Block) 
  • Rulers 
  • Glue (4 oz bottle) 
  • 2 Pocket folders 
  • Tabbed Dividers 
  • Index Cards (3x5-100 Pk)
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Colored Pencils (8 Count) 
  • Washable Markers
  • USB Flash Drives 
  • Earbuds

Donations can be dropped off at The East Windsor Social Services Department, 25 School Street, East Windsor, between the hours of Monday through Wednesday 9:00am-4:00pm, Thursday 9:00am-6:30pm and Fridays 9:00am-12:30pm.
